Suspension mods????

I have just purchased a 300tdi which I intend to do some mild off roading (fun days & green laneing etc) I also intend to fit some slightly larger M/T tyres and was wondering what suspension mods people would reccomed ie 1", 1.5" or 2" lift (I don't want to affect the steering & on road manners too much or get into having to change prop shafts etc).

I have seen that M&M 4x4 do a suspension kit with no lift but cranked rear trailing arms for better articulation, does anyone have any experience with this kit?

If I were to fit a 1" or 1.5" lift would I still need to fit corrected radius arms?

Also, what if any, are the real world" advantages to bottom mounted dislocation cones Vs top mount dislocation cones?.
