High Low and Diff Lock

:confused: Hi, I'v recently purchase a 93 Disco and trying to work out how hi low and diff lock work. Is it a H pattern and the right side are hi and low then the left side is diff lock hi low, when i change the lever it doesn't seem to make any changes except diff lock. Can some please explain how it works ?:confused:

As you say there is a H configuration. On the right of the H you will be able to select Low and High range which enables you to control the vehicle on steep ground where there is little loss of traction. On the left there is the Diff lock in either high or low range. You should only use this on lose surfaces or you may get "diff wind up". What the Diff does is make wheels diagonally opposed go at the same speed, thus giving you better propulsion when the going gets slippery. Hope this helps
